"within a personal narrative, even the smallest of characters believes themself a hero... isn't that right?
hero, villain, plot device. it's all a matter of perspective in the end."

WRECK | soundtrack | animation style! | storyline
- Quick notes:
- WRECK because nie and i were having a contest to see who could make the most train<wreck> universe with DESPAIR and SUFFERING. BUT LOL UH IN THE FUTURE I'D PROBABLY NAME IT SOMETHING SHONEN WITH A SEMI-COLON yes.
- ANYWAYS. The universe itself is my take on a shonen RPG! IF LOVEMODE IS A DECONSTRUCTION OF THE SHOUJO GENRE, WRECK IS A less grand half-DECONSTRUCTION OF THE SHONEN GENRE.
- THE THEMES OF WRECK QUESTION THE COEXISTENCE of friendship and heroism, and the value of will, success, strength and the meaning of loyalty. The battle system itself is straight-forward, and more basic than my usual stories... It's actually the characters-- each of which embodies a type of shonen anime main character-- and their interactions that drive the story forward.
- Animation style-wise, there is two! During more awesome fights and from the point of view of the more ~*delusional characters*~ it looks like gurren lagann. WHEN PEOPLE ACTUALLY DIE AND THE BODIES START ROLLING it looks more realistic!
CHARACTERS
Wreck's magic system has developed into pseudo-death game wherein people exploit each other in the name of long-standing tradition, power and/or glory. It works out such that a powerful wielder of magic can force another magic user into servitude: the conditions being that the controller must subdue the controllee. Power can be gained by birthright or via consumption of another magic user's heart. (SEE PREMISE FOR FURTHER DETAILS).
- Minox | reluctant hero! | Defined, limited and strengthened by his adaptability, Minox's only want is to survive. He is pulled into the game by chance and faces psychological manipulation from his captor on one hand, and a hyper-violent, somewhat delusional rescuer on the other... He is largely reluctant to fight and pass judgement... Yet, his story arc revolves around action vs. inaction and the meaning of will-power!
- Sun | byronic/anti-hero! | A believer in self-perfection, Sun uses the game to test his glorious ideologies on those he deems Worthy. His hope is to inspire others to break the chains of PETTY MORTAL RESTRAINTS and rise to a more perfect version of themselves! His story arc is tightly woven with Minox's as he acts as Minox's mentor and antithesis.
- Canon | savior hero! | The typical shonen if you will! Personality-wise Canon is naive, tomboyish, optimistic and fiery. After her best friend Minox is kidnapped and forced into a pact with Sun, she swears on her soul that she will be the one to save him… even if she must kill 1000 witches and eat 1000 hearts to gain the power. Her fatal flaw is her short-sightedness and her loyalty; her story arc revolves around empathy, friendship, and the meaning of a heroism.
- Leica | self-sacrificing/knightly hero! | Due to an unfortunate past, Leica is the product of countless failures and loneliness. Though he appears cool and offstandish, it all belies a person who desperately wants to be of use to someone at least ONCE in his life! He meets and becomes Canon's companion in her fight to save Minox, thinking that he can help her and gain value in this way. Unfortunately, he sees her as a cute little girl... while, she sees him as an untrustworthy means to an end.
- Olympia | romance hero/love hero! | Having begun the story as the typical love interest, Olympia reveals herself to be a powerful witch who knows much, much more than she had originally let on once her boyfriend Sam dies. She is out to take vengeance by killing those who killed him (Sun and Minox)... refusing to acknowledge that she could have prevented his TRAGIC END, had she sacrificed her idyllic life as an ordinary school girl! Her story arc revolves around regret, responsibility and forgiveness.
- Byx | traditional hero! | A neurotic and upstanding medical student, Byx compromises his own morals in order to join the game and protect a dear friend. Though his plot mirrors that of Canon's, Byx is thoughtful, and heavily adheres to his very strict traditional heroic values. Yet, this is what makes him and his actions ineffective. His story arc revolves around the greyness of morality, and indecision.
- Sam | decoy protagonist | The true embodiment of UNBRIDLED SHONEN SPIRIT, his death signals the beginning of things to come--
in this city, there lived three friends.
two were witches though, neither were girls. one shown as bright as a star. the other thought himself unworthy of such poetics. this was not peculiar for in this city anybody— boy or girl, bright or worthless— could become cursed with the despair that suits a wielder of magic.

GAME INFO
- SINCE THE START OF THE INDUSTRIAL PERIOD/THE AGE OF MODERNITY, magic has become a long, long, long dead and forgotten art.
- However, people are constantly born and cycle through life with the potential to become a magic user. Some of these never realize this potential and die without ever unlocking their powers. To those who do, however, they are instantly branded WITCHES.
- WITCHES come in seven different affinities. The OFFENSIVE AFFINITIES are
- And there are two SUPPORT AFFINITIES are LIGHT (healing+buffing) + DARKNESS (status changes+debuffing). When in battle attacks towards these SUPPORT AFFINITIES are NEUTRAL (meaning other elements do 1x damage to them).
- Spells have long been standardized, and can be learned as one gains power. A witch can only learn spells within their respective elements.
- A Witch's level of power is dependent on
A. The spells that they know (WIS)
B. Potential vs. Unlocked Potential
The ranking is on an (PLUS, A B C D E) scale, where PLUS is the highest and E is the lowest.
PLAYABLE CHARACTERS/PREMISE
- Then there are those known as WITCHHUNTERS, derogatively WITCHEATERS. These people can steal a witch's potential (but not their knowledge!) by killing them and eating their hearts.
- A witch's heart becomes poisonous after said witch's 25th birthday-- even if that witch is completely "dormant" and even if they are ranked E. Should a person eat an old Witch they will likely die of magical overdose.
- There is a growing trend where, instead of eating all their captured witches, WITCHHUNTERS force some into servitude. (KIND OF LIKE POKEMON BUT WITH CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS LMAO).
- In order to perform the binding spell to force a witch under one's control, that person needs to have consumed two average-powered witches' hearts to control the next one. IN OTHER WORDS, eat two, gain the power to control the third one. The number of people in a Witcheater's party is roughly indicative of how many witches they have eaten.
- Witchhunters go about this as discreetly as possible because most--if not all-- do not wish to be caught by the police. Bodies tend to be cleaned up with magic, disappearances need to be accounted for using underhanded manipulation! Many Witchhunters go after OTHERS who do not "clean up" after their bodies, or leave a trail because SPOILED GAMES ARE FROWN.
- Inevitably, the "wild" witches are weaker than the ones captured and enslaved by Witchhunters. In addition, Witchhunters often force their party members to battle each other in order to gain experience.
- IT IS PRETTY VIOLENT for WEAPONS are usually taken into play. MAGIC never accounts for HUMAN REACTION TIME. You cannot expect a person to create a wall of earth in time if they DO NOT see a speeding bullet coming at their faces!
MORE DETAILS ABOUT PACTS
- pacts can only be performed between two magic users!!! and one of course needs to have the power of two witches! (eaten two hearts; or if they're already a witch, eat an extra heart) a pact is formed only when the very specific ceremony is arranged! something like a circle is drawn and you must force that person to remain in that circle! *____*
- the command seal is only activated when a person follows a command with a trigger phrase for example canon's trigger phrase is <PRETTY PLEASE> whilst sun's trigger phrase is <DO ME A FAVOUR AND...>
- the command seal can only command a comandee things within their limits and without direct change to their personality... for example you can't command them to be stronger or fly, nor can they enact a command that forces a witch to suddenly become non-aggro.
- the command seal can only be called off by master! should the holder DIE prior to his/her witches... all his/her witches will die with him/her! (but not vice versa; a witch can die but nothing will happen to the holder). a witch can sense when their holder is in danger and dying.
- when a witch is under a master's command said witch cannot form a contract like that with any other master because pokemon
